A warm, distinctive resin incense honoring Saint Pio of Pietrelcina — Padre Pio — built around strong cinnamon wrapped in a soft mentholated aroma the Italian liturgical tradition calls "celestial perfume."
The blend stands apart from anything else in the line: the cinnamon gives it a deep, spice-driven base, while the mentholated lift carries the lighter, almost otherworldly note long associated with the saint's reported physical phenomena. At 4/5 intensity, it has enough weight for solemn liturgy and confessional chapels — environments closely tied to Padre Pio's own ministry — without becoming overpowering.
Padre Pio was born Francesco Forgione in 1887 in Pietrelcina, Italy. He entered the Capuchin Franciscans at fifteen and was ordained a priest in 1910. For fifty years he bore the visible stigmata of Christ, and his confessional in the friary of San Giovanni Rotondo drew pilgrims from across Italy and Europe — many later recounting the experience of a sweet, unexplained fragrance in his presence. He founded the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, a hospital adjoining the friary, in 1956. He died in 1968 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002.
