A mini devotional kit honoring Saint Charbel Makhlouf, the Lebanese Maronite hermit, pairing 0.7 oz of the Saint Charbel resin incense with 6 quick-light charcoal tablets and mini tongs.
The blend keeps a quiet, soft character — designed for the kind of contemplative prayer Charbel himself lived for twenty-three years in the hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul above the monastery of Annaya. The kit fits the July 24 feast, the rosary, and the long-standing Maronite tradition of incense kept in homes for blessing the sick.
Youssef Antoun Makhlouf was born in 1828 in the village of Bekaa Kafra, north Lebanon, the highest inhabited village in the country. He entered the Lebanese Maronite Order, took the name Charbel after a second-century martyr, and was ordained a priest in 1859. After sixteen years in community life he withdrew to the hermitage above Annaya, where he remained until his death on Christmas Eve 1898. His tomb at Annaya became one of the most-visited sites of Catholic devotion in the Middle East and has been credited with thousands of healings. Pope Paul VI canonized him in 1977.
