A large round St. Benedict medal stands upright on a wood base in this 6.3 in piece. The medal is gold-toned metal with red and blue enamel: PAX across the top, the cross of St. Benedict at the center with the letters CSSML and NDSMD, CSPB in the quadrants, and the Vade Retro inscription around the rim, joined to a dark rectangular wood base by a short turned stem.

The double-sided medal and stand make it a strong piece for a desk, an entryway table, or a home altar, and a meaningful gift for a house blessing, an ordination, a Confirmation, or anyone who keeps the St. Benedict devotion for protection.

  • Height: 6.3 in (16 cm), medal ~5.1 in (13 cm) wide
  • Material: zinc-alloy (zamak) medal, wood base
  • Finish: old gold with red and blue enamel
  • Weight: ~18 oz
  • Display: freestanding on base

St. Benedict (c. 480–547) wrote the monastic Rule that bears his name. The medal's letters abbreviate a Latin prayer against evil; it is one of the Church's oldest sacramentals.
