A Jubilee resin incense built on five symbolic notes: olibanum, spikenard, labdanum, cinnamon, and myrrh.
The blend was composed for the Jubilee of 2025 and each ingredient carries a specific meaning tied to the pilgrim's journey. Olibanum stands for the adoration of God and prayer rising to heaven. Spikenard is the symbol of mercy and the love of Christ. Labdanum is gathered from the cistus shrubs that grow along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain and is associated with the spiritual road of the pilgrim. Cinnamon represents hope and the desire for renewal in faith. Myrrh recalls the humanity of Christ joined to ours and his sacrifice on the cross. Together the five notes form an incense intended to accompany the liturgy of the Holy Year and to invite reflection on the journey toward heaven.
The name comes from the motto of the 2025 Jubilee proclaimed by Pope Francis, Peregrinantes in Spem — "pilgrims of hope." The Jubilee opened with the unsealing of the Holy Door at Saint Peter's Basilica on Christmas Eve, 2024, and continues the ordinary jubilee cycle established by Pope Boniface VIII in 1300.
