A gift-wrapped devotional set pairing 0.7 oz of the Misericordiae liturgical incense — pure olibanum — with a glazed ceramic burner, 6 quick-light charcoal tablets, and mini tongs.
The Misericordiae blend was composed for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis from December 2015 to November 2016. Pure olibanum carries the kit's character: the biblical frankincense, harvested from the Boswellia tree, present in Catholic worship since the Temple liturgies of the Old Testament. The 3/5 intensity sits comfortably in a home altar, parish chapel, or bedside oratory.
Pope Francis opened the Jubilee Year by walking through the Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica on December 8, 2015 — the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The year took as its motto "Misericordes sicut Pater" (merciful like the Father) and called the Church to a fresh encounter with the mercy of God in the sacrament of confession.
